Select a commissioned asset, set the reference standard and record the axis thresholds used for the benchmark comparison.
ISO 20816-1 vibration standards reference
| Group | Description | Zone A (good) | Zone B (acceptable) | Zone C (alert) | Zone D (danger) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Group 1 | Large machines, rigid foundation | 0 to 2.3 | 2.3 to 4.5 | 4.5 to 7.1 | > 7.1 |
| Group 2 | Large machines, flexible foundation | 0 to 3.5 | 3.5 to 7.1 | 7.1 to 11.0 | > 11.0 |
| Group 3 | Medium machines | 0 to 1.4 | 1.4 to 2.8 | 2.8 to 4.5 | > 4.5 |
| Group 4 | Small machines | 0 to 0.7 | 0.7 to 1.8 | 1.8 to 4.5 | > 4.5 |
Per ISO 20816-1 Table A.1, vibration zone thresholds vary by machine group. Group 1 applies to large machines on rigid foundations. Group 2 applies to large machines on flexible foundations with higher allowable vibration. Group 3 and 4 apply to smaller and medium machines with correspondingly stricter thresholds.

| ISO 7919 | Shaft vibration standards for rotating equipment | 0 to 1.6 | 1.6 to 3.2 | 3.2 to 5.0 | > 5.0 |
| ISO 13373-1 | Predictive maintenance and diagnostics (vibration) | 0 to 2.0 | 2.0 to 4.5 | 4.5 to 7.0 | > 7.0 |

Monitoring notes
Zone classification guidance:
- Zone A: Good condition. No action required.
- Zone B: Acceptable. Monitor trending. Plan maintenance within 1 to 2 months.
- Zone C: Alert threshold. Increase monitoring frequency. Schedule maintenance within 2 to 4 weeks.
- Zone D: Danger threshold. Immediate attention required. Take corrective action or reduce operating speed and load.
Benchmark readings are shown only when configured benchmark records exist. Trend Analysis and historical comparisons remain available in the diagnostic graphs section once persisted diagnostic data is present.
